Common Faults and Solutions of Screw Pump

Common Faults and Solutions of Screw Pump

Common faults and solutions of screw pump

Common faults and solutions of screw pump
NumberTroublePossible CauseSolution
1Loud Noise

1. Air leakage or blocks in the suction pipeline or the inlet .

2. The height sucked upward exceeds the suction capacity of the pump.

3. Damage to the bearing

4. The pump and the electric machinery are not concentric.

5. The installation position is too high, and cavition occurs.

1. Remove air leakage and blocks.

2. Reduce the suction height and the resistance of the pipeline.

3. Replace the bearing.

4. Rectify the concentricity

5. Reduce the installation height or the rotational speed.

2Fluctuation of Pressure

1. Air leakage or blocks in the suction pipeline or the inlet .

2. The height sucked upward exceeds the suction capacity of the pump .

3. The emergency valve has not been adjusted or the working pressure is too high, which makes the emergency valve close sometimes and open sometimes

1. Remove air leakage and blocks.

2. Reduce the suction height and the resistance of the pipeline .

3. Adjust the emergency valve or reduce the working pressure

3Flow Rate Decline

1. Air leakage or blocks in the suction pipeline or the inlet.

2. The height sucked upward exceeds the suction capacity of the pump.

3. Low rotational speed.

4. Wear and tear in the bush of the screw.

5. Leaks in the emergently valve.

6. Leaks in the spindle seal.

1. Remove air leakage and blocks.

2. Reduce the suction height and the resistance of the pipeline.

3. Increase the rotational speed.

4. Replace the worn parts.

5. Tighten the sealing surface of the valve

6. Repair or replace the components of the mechanical air-tightseal.

4No Suction

1. Air leakage or blocks in the suction pipeline or the inlet.

2. The height sucked upward exceeds the suction capacity of the pump.

3. Wear and tear on the bush of the screw stem.

4. Wrong rotational direction.

5. High medium viscosity.

1. Remove air leakage and blocks.

2. Reduce the suction height and the resistance of the pipeline.

3. Replace the worn parts.

4. Adjust the rotational direction of the electric machinery.

5. Heat the medium.

5Power increase

1. High medium viscosity.

2. Serious damage in the pump.

3. The pump and the electric machinery are not concentric .

4. Blocks in the discharge pipeline.

1. Raise the temperature to reduce viscosity.

2. Repair or replace worn parts.

3. Rectify the concentricity.

4. Remove the blocks.

6High Temperature in the pump

1. High Medium Viscosity.

2. Serious wear and tear inside the pump.

3. The pump and the electric machinery are not concentric .

4. Blocks in the discharge pipeline.

5. High oil temperature.

1. Replace the worn parts.

2. Repair and replace the worn parts.

3. Rectify concentricity.

4. Remove the blocks.

5. Reduce the oil temperature approvably.

7Hot Air-tight Seal

1. Blocks in the of the air-tight seal.

1. Wash the spill pore.

8Oil Leakage at the Air-tight seal

1. Blocks in the spill pore of the air-tight seal.

2. The sealing gland is not pressed level .

3. Damage to the sealing surface of the rotor ring or the stator ring.

4. Damage to the sealing ring of the rotor ring or the stator ring.

1. Wash the oil hole

2. Adjust the sealing gland.

3. Abrade the sealing surface or replace them.

4. Replace the sealing rings.
